IRS extends tax filing and payment deadline for Texas residents affected by winter storm to June 15th.
In the wake of the winter storms that caused unprecedented freezes in Texas during February 2021, the IRS has extended the deadline for various individual and business tax returns.
Businesses and residents of all 254 Texas counties are eligible for the extension and no action is needed to take advantage of the new deadline.
The extension applies to:
2020 Business Returns
2020 Personal Returns
2020 IRA Contributions
First quarter tax payments due April 15th
Payroll/Excise tax payments due April 30th
Farmers/Fisherman payments due March 1st
Tax exempt organizations
If you do receive a notice regarding late payments/filings, contact the IRS number provided on the notice to abate the penalty.
